Engagement: Sonia and Andy

F
or those who have reached here, and are looking for their OFFICIAL wedding photos, you can find it at this other blog post of ours (which includes all the wedding photos and official video footage by our team as well).

The below post here is of their official engagement photos taken by us. Enjoy!
Forgive the long looooooooooong post ahead. I'm terrible at culling photos, and in the short span of about 30 minutes on a sweet and warm summer afternoon amidst all the giggles, laughter and nerves, these two captured my heart. I couldn't help it :) I just hope as you look at this set, you'll sympathize with me and understand why it was so hard to make this set smaller.

I'd love for you to meet Sonia and Andy. Do the faces look familiar? For those that may recognize them, Sonia is half of this amazing musical duo called Jayesslee (the other half, is her twin sister Janice), that have taken the WORLD by storm in the last year. Seriously, you have to have been living under a ROCK if you have not heard of them :) Have a look at the millions and millions of viewers who have discovered and loved this pair of songbirds from Australia here at their youtube page, and the rapidly growing family of followers they have on their facebook page. And for those wondering, Andy is the lovely guy who looks after everything Jayesslee behind the scenes including their videos!! :D

Anyway, long story short - these two are engaged to be married in march!! Yes, thats NEXT MONTH!! We are soooooo excited to be documenting their wedding. Not just because they are cool, but really, when I met them and got to hang with them, they are seriously some of the most down to earth, fun, easy going people I have ever met. Really. Period. I couldn't have asked for nicer people to have in front of my camera, and to top it off, there is this understated calm, and sweetness to their love that I cannot quite pinpoint with a word, but I felt it, and it was magic :)

We can't WAIT for your wedding day Andy and Sonia!! Thank you for letting us be a part of something so special between you both :) See you soon!!

xoxo
David got all the shots of Andy in this session, including this one :)
I think I've mentioned this a billion times on facebook and other places online, but I just ADORE long windswept hair. Seriously.
Love this candid capture by David!! :D
One last shot to end, captured by David. I adore the candidness of this moment. :)
And to end, here is their engagement shoot in a slideshow. For those wondering what the song is, it's Jayesslee's NEWEST cover: Jason Mraz's "I Won't Give Up" which I just LOVE!! Words cannot express how much I have been obsessed with this song, even before it hit mainstream radio, so when I found that Sonia and Janice released this cover with the announcement of Sonia and Andy's engagement, I seriously could not be more thrilled! Please view their music video here, and buy their cover of the song HERE!! :D

Milton Park Country House Wedding: Erlen & Ade

H
ello my lovely readers!! Its been a CRAZY couple of weeks since the last post I made... We had the first JSP workshop in Sydney last week and wow, how INSANE was that! It was SO wonderful meeting so many creative individuals and hanging out with them for 3 whole days :) We'll be blogging about the workshop in a couple of days so look out for that! :D

Anyhow, needless to say, when I take the whole team out of the office, coming back is like fighting world war 3 :P

So I hope you didn't mind the slight absence on the blog last week. We're hoping the photos from this sweet little wedding will make up for the silence :)

Meet Erlen and Ade, and their GORGEOUS wedding in Bowral, at the stunning Milton Park Country House in the Southern Highlands :) Ooh how I love weddings in the country...there is just something about the air and romance that is solidified in such a beautiful setting. Thank you so much Erlen and Ade for letting David and I be part of such a special day in your lives. We hope as you look back at your photos, you will be reminded of just how much love and joy have brought you two together.

xoxo

For those who are wondering, Erlen's pretty little number is made by the talented Collette Dinnigan. Her dresses are stunning! :D
Shoes courtesy of Jimmy Choo :)
Groom prep shots were taken just downstairs by David. (YAY for couples who get ready at the same place - less travelling time for us which means more photos for you lovebirds :D )
And you can never really go wrong with a Hugo Boss suit :) My hubby swears by them! :D
The very very pretty letterpress stationery on the day was taken care of by Bella Figura.
I loved this shot captured by David of the bored little ring bearer :P
And then some last few pictures under the GORGEOUS sunset light that day :D
I love DIY brides with fabulous taste and a great eye. Look at all the things Erlen put together for her intimate reception lunch :D
Oh and for those wondering, this profiterole cake was DIVINE. Made by the yummy Gumnut Patisserie.

Terrara House Estate Wedding: Carrie and Michael

I
know this blog has been long long LONG overdue for an update... I plan to change that this year. Its just that I've come out of what I like to term as 'hibernation' and finished a long 6 week break. No work, no shoots, nothing. Its something I really really needed as each year takes ALOT out of me mentally, physically and emotionally because I tend to over extend myself without knowing... and also, so I could come back to 2012 fresh and craving to shoot. So thank you for your patience with me. I hope to only be better for all of you who have been so wonderfully kind to me :)

Anyhow... Michael and Carrie. Wow. Well first, it was in the south coast of NSW at the GORGEOUS property of Terrara House Estate in Berry. My jaw dropped when I saw how beautiful the setting was. I usually write a million words for the weddings I shoot... how they make me feel, what they make me think about love, marriage, and the journey of forever after. But with Michael and Carrie, the more I tried, the less and less adequate it felt. They are just two souls madly in love, the kind of love that makes your heart ache in fullness when you are in their presence. Its the kind of love that makes you want to have that love, to love more, to love better. Its the type of love that makes you want to run to your own special one and hug them hard. There was just such an overflow of joy and adoration from them that day, you couldn't help but smile, and sigh :) Even the awful torrential rain that visited that day, couldn't put a grey stain on the incredible happiness that marked their day.

Thank you Michael and Carrie for the HONOR of being able to document such a special time in your lives. You two are the luckiest, to have found each other. David and I couldn't have been happier snapping those billion and one frames of you and your families. It was a total privilege :)

Carrie's elegant Amsale wedding gown :)
And HELLO... who can say no to louboutins right??
And the HOT red numbers for the bridesmaids, from Carla Zampatti. LOVE :D
Preparing for the groom's visit, and the tea ceremony :)
I LOVED the expression when they first saw each other. It gave me goosebumps :)
Then it was off for the ceremony :)
Even though it was pouring rain, we managed to squeeze in a few more portraits... one even with a flare of sun! :D
Just LOOK at all the amazing decor. I adore classic white weddings done in STYLE.
hehe :P
Then it was off for some night time fun! :D
And the first dance... always always always my favourite part of the night! :D
Thanks everyone for staying with me this long for the post!! :D I hope it was worth it!!

Happy mid week! xox
