Wedding: Cynthia and Alex
It still surprises me, every time I see the groom's reaction to when he first see's his bride come into view on their wedding day. That glimmer of anticipation and excitement, followed by the amazement that fills the eyes, then cocooned in waves of thankfulness and certain knowing that he holds the most precious treasure on earth right there in front of him. And lastly, not forgetting love. So much love. So much so, that I gulp once in awhile in appreciation of such a moment.
It was no different with Cynthia and Alex. You could see it when when Cynthia slowly graced her feet over that long stretch of red carpet down the aisle, you could see it when Alex's fingers slid that circular piece of white gold over her finger and his voice trembled when uttering his promises of love and forever to his bride, you could see it when he lifted his cup in joy as he toasted to his new wife, and you felt it when Alex cupped her forehead to his lips and gently kissed her on the dancefloor as the night drew to a close for no other reason but because he just wanted to be closer to her.
I've always loved love, and I've always treasured romance because I know that as time marches on, it is an inevitable part of life and maturing love that little layers and pieces of the romance eventually flicker away. Which is why when I witness moments of those fireworks, when love burns its brightest, it puts a warmth in my heart. Because, like a shooting star, an appearance every now and again is usually spectacular whenever it does come around :) My wish is for all the prince charmings out there who have found their princess, to remember one thing that absolutely awes you about her, and then tell her. And for the princesses, to do the same thing for their prince. To everyone else still yet to find that one person, I hope you never forget to let the fires fan every now and again, when it is your turn :) It's never too late, and you are never too old to let your heart dance.
In the meantime, enjoy my favourites from Cynthia and Alex's wedding :)
The boys got ready downstairs from the girls :)

We then headed out for some portraits, but the rain was glued to us that day and it hung around for awhile so we couldn't stay long outside unfortunately :(

Paddy Fields Engagement: Kevin + Chau Heung
The sun sweltered high above that afternoon, letting its piercing sticky rays settle on the green blades in the fields below its fiery expanse. Not far underneath, the air was heavy and obese, clinging to us as if for dear life, but that didn't seem to erase their smiles. Nor dampen their playful laughter. And nor did it negate their abundant energy and love from showing through in soft embraces, clasping of fingers, and almost-kisses as Kevin and Chau Heung ran through the paddy fields amidst the never ending expanse of green :)
And then, I smiled and sighed at the end of the day, in sweet satisfaction. I really do love seeing people in love. It comes out in various forms and will change from couple to couple, but really, the essence and the spirit never changes. When it comes down to it, it is a merging of two souls choosing to grasp hold onto each other, and lingering on intertwined because doing otherwise would be unimaginable. Pablo Neruda once said, "I love you without knowing how, or when, or from where. I love you straightforwardly, without complexities or pride; so I love you because I know no other way." And I believe that true for all lovers, whether new or of years, whether young or old, who are truly in love. And the fact that I get to share and witness a glimmering slice of such a beautiful thing in my line of work makes me happy :)
To a simple romantic like myself, that's heaven to my heart, and food to my romantic soul :)
Enjoy my favourites from Kevin and Chau Heung's session! I know it's been awhile since my last picture post, so there are alot of photos, and... wait for it... A SLIDESHOW at the end!! :D
And here is their SLIDESHOW for a tonne of extra photos! :)
Nothing kind of days :)
Today has been one of those perfect kind of days. You know, where nothing much happens, but you have time (or, in my case choosing to make time). Time to slow down. Time to breathe in the simple pleasures of life. Time to come home, drop your bags, settle comfortably into the corner of your favourite couch, perch your feet up, and just sigh happily in unadulterated satisfaction in the simplicity of it all.
For one, I am not working. And that is a joy in itself. That is not to say I don't love my job. I love it with a fire that sometimes burns brighter than I can contain. And I know I am one of those fortunate few individuals in this world who can say without a doubt that I am allowed to do what I am ABSOLUTELY passionate about, and get paid for it. For that, I am more thankful than anyone can probably ever understand. However, as much as one loves their work. It is, at the end of the day, still work. And everyone needs a sabbath. Including me :)
So today, was one of those nothing kinda days, filled with the small pleasures of life that make a girl like me smile. You know... illy coffee, a refreshing workout at the gym, Nicholas sparks books, zara, chocolate cake and vanilla ice cream, red wine, and who can forget my other passion in life - music. I've just rediscovered some old music that I had completely forgotten about, and to an audio-byte lover like myself, it was like finding extra Christmas presents in the house, in June! :)
If only, we all took more time to slow life down enough to soak up all the little things that make life so pretty at times. To take a step out and away from the crazy we live in every day. To just stop. Perhaps we'd notice we are alot better off than the next person out there. Perhaps we'd be able to smile in the face of adversity with greater bravery. Perhaps we'd all be happier more often than not. Perhaps we'd realize that there is still much to be thankful for, even though we may not have been given perfect lives to live.
I am a paradox to my very core. You see, I am a complicated girl in many funny ways, yet at the very same time, it takes only a little to make me smile, and put a warm gooey buzz in my heart :)
Today has been one of those perfect kind of days. And while it won't last forever, the fact that You gave me one to enjoy in spite of everything going on around me, I thank you, Lord :)
