Anyhow, to brighten up your thursday, I'm going to blog completely out of order and share here a sweet sweet engagement session, with a slight pixie like feel :) Thank you Selena and Ben for letting me document your love! It's so beautiful to see a friend of mine grow up and now get married! Sel, I'm so happy to see God bring you two together. My prayer is that you continue to grow in Him, and let Him use you mightily for His big plans and purposes :) ps: Selena - I still have my eye on your gorgeous pixie dress! hehe! :P
I LOOOOOVE Selena's dress!! It's so different and pretty! :D
Really really adore the next two frames, but couldn't pick which one I liked better. Your thoughts? :)
Lastly, probably my favourite shot from the session :D
Have a lovely day ahead everyone!!

Inspiration Board: A Sip Of Summer
Mood boards, inspiration palettes, and brainstorming canvases... these things are not new to me. As someone who studied and practiced design for years before I was a photographer, we used to churn these things out day in day out as we undertook our projects to help us think more creatively and to keep all our random ideas tied to the original theme. Now, as a wedding photographer, I can't emphasize enough the importance of these things, and I can't encourage my brides enough to really let their imaginations and creative juices run loose while planning their wedding by doing an inspiration board.
Inspiration boards really help to tie in all the pretty little details and visual aspects of their big day together in a beautiful cohesive theme, so that at the end of it all, you get a gorgeous wedding, and everything photographs wonderfully because it has all been planned and laid out neatly according to a colour palette and visual theme. No more random style choices spilling across your wedding day and just getting 'so-so' photos :) As a photographer, I find that brides who have done their homework and made inspiration boards, and ensured that all their purchases, choices, and designs for their wedding day always fit and tie back into their theme/inspiration board, always get the prettiest (and I mean PRETTIEST!!) photos at the end of the day. And who doesn't want that? :)
So, as a little treat for all of you this monday, to brighten up your screens, and to inspire you brides out there a little, I've decided to post up this sweet little inspiration board put together by my FABULOUS sister, Jillian :) She has always has the most amazing eye for detail, colour, and layout (she was already picking out clothes for me when she was just 12) and she loves weddings and photos as much as I do :) I personally think she did a fabulous job on her first ever Inspiration Board - and get this... she is only 14 years old :) Yes, that's right 14 :)
Midnight Cravings
I am not a sweet tooth. Really. I'm the kind of girl who craves french fries, deep fried chicken, burgers.... you get the drift.
But when I opened up my fridge recently, I think I might have to re-consider my statement. Look what I found!!
Engagement: Emma and Tristan
Here's something sweet, simple, and oozing with amiable and palpable love to brighten up your wednesday :)
Meet the beautiful Emma and Tristan. Two of the kindest, nicest people I have had the pleasure of having in front of my camera! I'll save their story and write up for their wedding as it is literally around the corner! I can't wait to photograph them tie the knot - looking at these images, I hope you understand why :)
Happy Wednesday peeps!
Vintage Chic Garden Wedding: Denise and Alex
Now, the quote above was never mentioned or read at their wedding, but I honestly do think of these two when the words of this quote meet my eyes. There is a layer of innocent sweetness, that just oozes out and resonates through and through with what Pooh and Piglet say to each other. And Denise and Alex, echoed and chimed the same kind of feeling when I watched them pledge their forevers to each other, and promise their hearts til their last breath.
They way they looked at each other in quiet appreciation, and loving kindness, it was evident that these two loved each other with roots of friendship, mutual respect, and citadel-strong foundations of deep affection. Even then, I don't think I have quite aptly described just how special it was to see these two together...sometimes you can't quite put your finger on it, or pair it with the right words, but when you see two people who share a rich affinity with one another, you just know... it really feels not just like a union of two lovers, but also a union of kindred spirits. And that, I can honestly say is something incredibly special.
Thank you for inviting me into your lives, Alex and Denise. It really was an honor to watch you two get married. My only hope is that every couple loves and appreciates each other as much as I saw in the both of you that day :)
Enjoy my favourite frames from their intimate garden wedding! I loved the fact that Denise styled it to look so elegant, chic, and vintage! Your taste is divine, Denise! :D
